Your Time is Money

As an entrepreneur, there are few statements that ring quite so true... Whether you're actively selling your goods and services, building your processes and systems, or coaching your awesome team- each and every moment you spend on your business equals $$$.

In order to bring the most value to your business, it is important to ask yourself 3 key questions on a regular basis. I recommend doing this weekly or monthly- but never less frequently than that.

  1. Which activities am I doing regularly, and how much time does it take me??

  2. Am I GREAT at these things, and do I LOVE doing them?

  3. Is there someone on my team (or should there be) who can do them better and more efficiently?

There are many resources and coaches out there that can guide you through exercises to expand on this practice, like this one from Tara Butler Floch, so if you want to go deeper, it's a great practice!

Clear your plate!

The list of things business owners can spend their time on is endless... as a former massage therapist turned spa owner- I can tell you from experience that I was doing all. the. things! Any given day provided opportunities to be a therapist, mentor, customer service rep, janitor, bookkeeper, and even plumber (why, for the love of all that is good, can't we all agree to use the trash receptacle?). Of course, it is important to be flexible, and willing to jump in to do whatever is needed for the business... but it is even more important to take a pro-active approach to find out what you can take off your plate.

Delegate what you aren't great at, and that you don't love doing to the right person, team, or service so that you are free to spend your time doing what your business needs you to do- Maximize your time, to maximize your $$$!

I'd love to help you with the bookkeeping and payroll needs for your business, and you can schedule a free consultation here. But, don't stop there! What else can you take off your plate? Who on your team or in your network can do the things that you find to be drudgery? Where else can you find a few hours per week that you could spend on the parts of your business that are going to allow you to scale? Challenge yourself to ask the 3 questions above on a regular basis to begin to maximize your time, and make more $!
